An intimate, sensory-driven two-hander that unfolds in real-time over the course of a single evening. Set in a domestic kitchen that feels like part-laboratory and part-confessional, the play follows two individuals as they navigate the complexities of a modern relationship while preparing a shared meal. As the stovetop heats up, so does the dialogue — deconstructing the ingredients of intimacy, examining emotional labour, the performance of gender roles, and the thin line between desire and resentment. The kitchen becomes a battlefield and a sanctuary where queer and heterosexual perspectives on love collide and coalesce. A bold exploration of vulnerability that asks: when the meal is served and the masks are off, what do we truly bring to the table?

Who We Are
Bcoz Wow started the way most honest things do — because the work that needed to exist didn't exist yet. Mbali Ndlozi needed a space to make stories that told the truth about the people she grew up around, fell in love with, and fought alongside. So she built one.
We are a Johannesburg creative studio. We make theatre that makes people uncomfortable in the best way. We make films that refuse to look away. We run workshops that give people permission to write the things they've never been allowed to write. We produce audio drama that refuses to be politely categorised.
Everything we make begins with a question about who gets to tell a story — and who only ever gets told about themselves. We know which side of that line we stand on.
We've been doing this since 2019. We've won awards. We've performed at national festivals and in small community halls. We've sat in circles with people who'd never written a sentence about themselves and watched them leave holding something they didn't expect to find.
Bcoz Wow exists because the stories matter. That's it, really.

No grant arrives in the mail. No committee decides this work matters. Someone has to make it possible — and that someone is whoever decides to show up.
We're raising R150,000 to produce two shows: the return of What We Bring to the Table and the premiere of Wrong Emotional Address. Venue. Artists. Campaign. That's where it goes.

An audio drama navigating the space between technology and human connection — where the digital world presses against the most tender parts of being alive.

A creative writing workshop created specifically for queer bodies and women — two groups whose experience of intimacy has been consistently written about rather than written by. This is the space where that changes.
What It Is
A facilitated creative writing experience exploring how we write about bodies, desire, vulnerability, and identity — from the inside. Participants leave with original work and a new relationship to their own voice.
Who It's For
Queer bodies and women. A brave space — not a safe space — brave enough to hold the full complexity of those identities and the intimacy they carry.
Format
Half-day or full-day. In-person (Johannesburg) or online. Maximum 20 participants. Led by an experienced multi-disciplinary team.
